Impermeable Sun - 3D wall sculpture

Description

Hand constructed 3D wall sculpture made from found materials sourced by hand from the coastline of Anglesey. Knotted, yellow fishing line, plant stem, plastic cup shard and rubber tubing bound with orange rope.

Backstory

My Dad bought a wooden, clinker-built boat when I was a kid. It was painted black and white. We used to go out and drop lobster pots with a buoy made from a squash bottle that my eldest brother created. It had a small Seagull engine. I remember watching dad as he pulled the starter rope and seeing the petrol move through the rubber tubing to feed the engine.

Materials

Fishing line, plant stem, plastic, rope, rubber tubing and wood.

Mounting

Mounted on 18 mm MDF with a recycled 'ring pull' hanger on the back.
